Date : Apr, 24, 2024 (Wed) Scripture : Deuteronomy 32:34-52 Dt 32:34-52 [NIV] [37] He will say:" Now where are their gods , the rock they took refuge in, [38] the gods who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up to help you! Let them give you shelter! [39] "See now that I myself am He! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand...  [44] Moses came with Joshua son of Nun and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people. [45] When Moses finished reciting all these words to all Israel, [46] he said to them, " Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. [47] They are not just idle words for you--they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess."  [4...

Finding Religion in Everyday Life

Apr 10, 2024 (Wed) 💗Read Deuteronomy 25:1-19 prayerfylly. Dt 25:1-19 [NIV] [1] When men have a dispute, they are to take it to court and the judges will decide the case, acquitting the innocent and condemning the guilty . [2] If the guilty man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall make him lie down and have him flogged in his presence with the number of lashes his crime deserves, [3] but he must not give him more than forty lashes. If he is flogged more than that, your brother will be degraded in your eyes.  [4] Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain .  [5] If brothers are living together and one of them dies without a son, his widow must not marry outside the family. Her husband's brother shall take her and marry her and fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to her. [6] The first son she bears shall carry on the name of the dead brother so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel...  [13] Do not have two differing weights in your bag --o...

Principles of Christian Living

Apr 5, 2024 (Fri) 💗Read Deuteronomy 22:1-12 prayerfully. Dt 22:1-12 [4] If you see your brother's donkey or his ox fallen on the road, do not ignore it . Help him get it to its feet. [5] A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this. [6] If you come across a bird's nest beside the road, either in a tree or on the ground, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young . [7] You may take the young, but be sure to let the mother go, so that it may go well with you and you may have a long life. [8] When you build a new house, make a parapet around your roof so that you may not bring the guilt of bloodshed on your house if someone falls from the roof. [9] Do not plant two kinds of seed in your vineyard; if you do, not only the crops you plant but also the fruit of the vineyard will be defiled. [10] Do not plow with an ox and a donkey yoked together. ...

Do Not Fear

Apr 3, 2024 (Wed) 💗Read Deuteronomy 20:1-20 prayerfully. Dt 20:1-9 [1] When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you. [2] When you are about to go into battle, the priest shall come forward and address the army. [3] He shall say: "Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. [4] For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory."  [5] The officers shall say to the army: "Has anyone built a new house and not dedicated it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else may dedicate it. [6] Has anyone planted a vineyard and not begun to enjoy it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else enjoy it. [7] Has anyone become ...

Listen to Him

Image
Apr 1, 2024 (Mon) Read Deuteronomy 18:15-22 prayerfully. Dt 18:15-22 [15] The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him. [16] For this is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, "Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die." [17] The LORD said to me: "What they say is good.  [18] I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. [19] If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account. [20] But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death."

What a Love!

Mar 29, 2024 (Fri) 💗Read Mk 15:16-32 Carefully. Mk 15:17-32 [17] They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. [18] And they began to call out to him, "Hail, king of the Jews!" [19] Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. [20] And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him...   [23] Then they offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it. [24] And they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots to see what each would get. [25] It was the third hour when they crucified him. [26] The written notice of the charge against him read: THE KING OF THE JEWS...   [29] Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, "So! You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, [30] come down from the c...

The Sacrifice of Love

Mar 22, 2024 (Fri) 💗Read Mark 14:1-11 carefully. Mk 14:1-11 [1] Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some sly way to arrest Jesus and kill him. [2] "But not during the Feast," they said, "or the people may riot."  [3] While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head . [4] Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why this waste of perfume? [5] It could have been sold for more than a year's wages and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly . [6] "Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. [7] The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time...

The LORD is coming

Mar 20, 2024 (Wed) 💗Read Mark 13:14-27 prayerfully. Mk 13:14-27 [14] "When you see 'the abomination that causes desolation' standing where it does not belong--let the reader understand--then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. [15] Let no one on the roof of his house go down or enter the house to take anything out. [16] Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. [17] How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! [18] Pray that this will not take place in winter, [19] because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now--and never to be equaled again. [20] If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.  [21] At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'Look, there he is!' do not believe it. [22] For false Christs and false prophets will ...

The Gift of the Heart

Mar 18 (Mon) 💗Read Mk 12:35-44 prayerfully. Mk 12:35-44 [38] As he taught, Jesus said, "Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, [39] and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. [40] They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely."  [41] Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. [42] But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. [43] Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. [44] They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything--all she had to live on.
