[18] They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. [19] But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out.   [22] But on arriving at the jail, the o fficers did not find them there . So they went back and reported, [23] "We found the jail securely locked, with the guards standing at the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside." [24] On hearing this report, the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests were puzzled , wondering what would come of this.   [26] At that, the captain went with his officers and brought the apostles. They did not use force, because they feared that the people would stone them.  [28] "We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name," he said. "Yet you have f...

Date : Apr 8, 2024 (Wed) Scripture : Acts 4:13-31 Ac 4:13-32 [NIV] [13] When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. [14] But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. [18] Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.  [19] But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God. [20] For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." [21] After further threats they let them go. [23] On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.  [24] When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. "Sovereign Lord," [29] Now, Lord, consider their thre...

[4] Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!" [5] So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. [6] Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." [7] Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. [8] He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.   [12] When Peter saw this, he said to them: "Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? [13] The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, th...

[2] Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. [3] They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. [4] All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.  [5] Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. [6] When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language. [7] Utterly amazed, they asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? [8] Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native language?

Seeking God in Nature

Date : Apr 29, 2024 (Mon) Scripture : Psalm 104:1-18 Ps104:1-18 [NIV] [1] Praise the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.  [9] You set a boundary they cannot cross ; never again will they cover the earth. [10] He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains. [11] They give water to all the beasts of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst. [12] The birds of the air nest by the waters ; they sing among the branches . [13] He waters the mountains from his upper chambers; t he earth is satisfied by the fruit of his work. [14] He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate-- bringing forth food from the earth : [15] wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart. [16] The trees of the LORD are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. [17] There the birds make their nests; the stork has its home in the pine ...

He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, 'Destroy him!' [28] So Israel will live in safety alone; Jacob's spring is secure in a land of grain and new wine, where the heavens drop dew. [29] Blessed are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will trample down their high places."  [34:4] Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.'
